Hello Killian!

Tom and I picked up our new baby Killian on Friday, June 11th and he is amazing! I feel like such a proud parent- I took him to his first vet appointment and (he got a shot :( but was very good about it) and he weighs a whopping 16 POUNDS! He is bigger than his brothers by 2lbs and he is only 10 weeks old! It looks like Tom and I are in store for not just a crazy border collie, but a giant crazy border collie. For the past few days he has been absolutely puppy-like and plays very well with his buddy and fellow puppy (cousin) golden-retriever Sophie. Hopefully his issue with humping begins to subside lol because it might start to be a problem if we take him to the park or anywhere there are female dogs haha.
Killian is quite the looker and every one is always surprised that he is a pure bred border collie because he is a rare red (liver) and white color and his eyes are hazel/yellowish. People are so curious what we will call him for short and of course we aren't planning on calling him "killer" or "kill", that would be weird and he is totally not deserving of those names... not yet anyway lol but i think we might call him "killy" as it sounds a little less nasty. I was really impressed that he did so well on his first walk on friday and managed to keep up with the big dogs ( sophie and bailey) after such a long day of excitement and new things.
We are very proud of our new little man and will be excited to share more about him in the upcoming weeks.. hopefully all good news and not about him destroying a favorite pair of shoes or humping more innocent lady-dogs haha). And like I said before I would like to eventually post pictures of the little rascal and other things once I get around to having time to actually open up my laptop when I get home from work .. and charging my camera .. and uploading pictures .. you see what I mean , but someday I will get my life together and be able to cross simple things off my list and be able to breathe!

Ps Thanks for the vent session at the end there :)

Hi there

Today is going so slow. Besides the usual work, I have to find time to not only tutor and go to the gym, but also to Pizza Night and view an apartment. There is not enough time in the day! ... and by day I mean after 4:30pm when I get out of work and drag my butt back home through schenectady. Good news though, the neck is 98% better and I am able to function like a normal human being again.. wooohoo!
Nothing interesting is really going on in my life today except for the fact that my bf and I might be getting to take our puppy home soon! :) His name will be Killian (originally Neville lol) and he is a reddish-brown Border Collie. Everytime I see him I instantly think of the movie "Babe" and want to run down to the movie store and go get it ... but I don't think it ever was recorded on DVD.. hmm I'll have to check that one out. Killian will be one of the main deciding factors in which apartment we will rent because there will need to be enough room for him to run around and be wild as well as a safe area that we can take him outside and go on a run with him etc. Finding an apartment is so difficult these days- ughh I don't even want to think about it until its over!
Anyways I'm out... got to get to doing some work (Thank god its pay day!)

Good Morning

So today was pretty chilly for the 8th of June, but putting together an outfit that would accommodate the 40 degree weather and not let me sweat to death by the time it hits 75 and i'm driving home from work in my car with no A/C was surprisingly not the biggest concern of my morning, nor was the fact that I spilled Honey Nut Cheerios all of the living room while watching the Today Show ( Christina Aguleria? sp is back btw) or the fact that I had to scrounge for something to bring for lunch. My biggest issue this morning was the wrenching pain in my neck. I swear, if someone told me there was a little koala attached to my back tearing its claws up and down my neck, I would not have thought twice. Unfortunately this pain was not the result of sleeping funny or practicing some weirdo yoga move, it has been plaguing me since 1pm yesterday. I was just sitting at my chair and all the sudden... my neck just TWEAKED the F* out. So needless to say, I have been walking around like a gargoyle pretty much ever since, and let me tell you, it is hard to walk up and down the stairs like a gargoyle, in 4inch heels no less. I was really contemplating taking some strong pain meds or muscle relaxers this morning but wouldn't be able to work, much less drive to work safely. I'm sure they don't want me here drooling at my desk, writing out deeds that make absolutely no sense haha, not like they make much sense anyway.

So although no one follows this blog and probably never will, unless they are super cool or related to me haha, I intend to start posting some somewhat interesting stuff on here and try to explore some topics that might help me "write more better-er" and keep me current on Media and what is happening in and around the little bubble that I live in.

Some things that I might like to explore are as follows:
  • Job Hunting (duh we are in a recession)
  • Tips for people heading into college ( for some reason people are ALWAYS coming to me for advice on this topic and I think I can offer more than those stupid Chicken Soup or Noodle or whatever they are life-guiding b.s)
  • New things that I think are worth trying .. probably food because Ericka +food =love
  • New Restaurants - both the bad and the good around the Capital region
  • Real Estate in and Around the Capital Region (concerning young people getting their 1st apt & pets and mean landlords and the whole nine yards)and last but not least, I might consider posting awesome
  • Saratoga Racetrack Crowd & Nightlife ( not that i'm necessarily cool enough to be considered in it)

Why Hello

Hello Blog World,

Graduating from college is not as fun as I had anticipated it to be. Now I have to branch out into the great world of social media in the hopes of keeping both my writing skills intact and my connections to everyone & everything alive :) This will be a short entry but hopefully not the last one... like the little diaries I used to keep when I was younger.. one page and done. Oh well- here's to hoping I follow through with this new project and find some success with it :)
